After rallying late to defeat the Giants on Friday night, the Miami Marlins topped San Francisco 5-0 on Saturday night to take a 2-1 lead in the four game series.
Facing Tim Lincecum, Adeiny Hechavarria's two out RBI single to right field gave the Marlins an early one run edge.
Although he appeared to have settled in, Lincecum gave up two more runs to the Marlins in the top of the sixth. Casey McGehee opened the inning with a double to center field, and Angel Pagan couldn't make a diving catch on a Garrett Jones fly ball to center field that turned into a triple.
Following the triple, Jarrod Saltalamacchia's sacrifice fly to left field pushed the Marlins' lead to three runs.
Despite struggling in his last outing against the Dodgers, Miam in starter Tom Koehler was solid on the mound. In seven innings, Koehler gave up four hits and no runs while walking two and striking out seven. The Giants got just three men in scoring position, but Koehler got out of jams in both the third and sixth innings.
Giancarlo Stanton's seventh inning home run made it a 4-0 game, and Jeff Baker delivered a pinch hit RBI single to extend the Marlins' lead.
A.J. Ramos pitched a scoreless inning in relief, and after Kevin Slowey loaded the bases in the ninth, Steve Cishek struck out Tyler Colvin to end the game.
