Miami Marlins Daily Minor League Report: April 11

Kyle Jensen achieved the improbable golden sombrero, while Angel Sanchez looked markedly better on the mound in his second start.

Triple-A: New Orleans Zephyrs
W 8-4 @ Oklahoma City RedHawks

Full Box Score

Kyle Jensen, LF: 0-for-5, 4 SO
Josh Rodriguez, 2B: 4-for-4, 2 R

Elih Villanueva, SP: 4.0 IP, 6 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 3 SO
Chris Hatcher, RP: 1.1 IP, 2 SO

Despite Kyle Jensen's ugly performance, the rest of the offense more than compensated with a deluge of hits. Josh Adams tied the game in the bottom of the second with a two-run triple. The Zephyrs continued to pile on runs throughout the game, while the bullpen shutdown Oklahoma City.

Double-A: Jacksonville Suns
L 0-1 @ Birmingham Barons

Full Box Score

Austin Nola, SS: 2-for-4, 2B, 2 SO

Angel Sanchez, SP: 6.0 IP, 6 H, R, ER, 3 SO
Grant Dayton, RP: 1.0 IP, 2 H, SO

After allowing five runs to score and failing to strike out a batter in his first start, Angel Sanchez managed to pitch rather effectively against Birmingham. Unfortunately, the Jacksonville offense fell completely silent, so Sanchez's one earned run remained decisive in the 1-0 game.

High Class A: Jupiter Hammerheads
W 9-2 vs. Bradenton Marauders

Full Box Score

Terrence Dayleg, SS: 4-for-5, 2 R
Viosergy Rosa, DH: 1-for-3, 2 R, BB

Jake Esch, SP: 4.2 IP, 5 H, 2 R, ER, 5 BB, 5 SO
Colby Suggs, RP: 1.1 IP, H, BB, SO

Jake Esch seemed poised for another disastrous outing in the first inning. He walked two batters, made a costly fielding error, and even allowed a runner to steal home. Somehow he escaped from all this, and managed to allow no further runs, while allowing ten batters to reach base. A fluky start, but ultimately not a complete catastrophe.

Low Class A: Greensboro Grasshoppers
W 6-3 @ Delmarva Shorebirds

Full Box Score

Justin Bohn, SS: 2-for-5, R, 2B, 2 SO
Avery Romero, 2B: 2-for-5, R

Domingo German, SP: 5.0 IP, 2 H, R, ER, 3 BB, 4 SO

Justin Bohn, a 7th round pick last year, continued his impressive first week of the season with his fourth multi-hit game. His triple-slash line currently sits at .346/.393/.462. He's been one of the Grasshoppers's top producers, along with Avery Romero.
