Miami wants to add a starting pitcher, and is not stopping after acquiring Dan Haren, who may or may not appear in a Marlins uniform in 2015. ESPN's Jayson Stark reported the Marlins were planning on announcing the signing of a starter at some point today, and notes that it will not be Justin Masterson, who the club was reportedly interested in.
MLB.com's Joe Frisaro confirmed Stark's report on Thursday, and believes the starter who the Marlins are going to acquire is right-handed and is one year away from free agency.
at this point, all I can report about #Marlins mystery starter to be acquired today is he's a right-hander 1 yr from free agency.

The Marlins addressed a need by trading for Dee Gordon on Wednesday night, and after the starter is signed or acquired, will be looking to add a first baseman.
