The Miami Marlins had a resurgent season in 2014, and despite the end-of-season disappointment, it was one to celebrate. Miami finished well ahead of anyone's expectations to start the year (although this author at least expected 73 wins before the season), and as a result, there had to be plenty of moments to celebrate from this year.

We here at Fish Stripes, the proud SB Nation Marlins blog, would like you to help us celebrate the good times and bad from the 2014 campaign. We are introducing the 2014 SB Nation MLB Awards, but we're doing things a bit differently than before. Unlike in the past, when we discussed the same awards the BBWAA discussed, this season we are going to reward moments in time rather than players in particular. We are going to recognize the funniest, the most regrettable, and the best of the best of this year in Marlins play!

Here is our tentative schedule!

- Tomorrow, on November 5th, we are going to introduce the nominees for the funniest moment in the 2014 Marlins season. Do you remember a memorable gaffe in Marlins play last year? A fall, a prank, a goof? Mention it in the comments here and we will vote on the award!

- On November 6th, we will announce nominations and voting for the most regrettable moment in the 2014 season. This spot goes to the closest near-misses, the toughest losses, the most devastating and disappointing injuries of the 2014 campaign. Nominate your thoughts in the comments here!

- On November 7th, we will announce nominations and voting for the best defensive play of the 2014 season. Remember the catch of a lifetime? A diving stop? A no-look snag from a pitcher? Let's use those and nominate your favorites!

- On November 10th, we will announce nominations and voting for the most important hit of the 2014 campaign. What was the most critical swing of the season? A walk-off dinger? A mammoth homer? A bases-loaded hit? Tell us who you think is most deserving!

- On November 12th, we will discuss the nominations for the pitching appearance of the 2014 season. What was the best start of the year? Or do you think it was a dominant relief outing that earns the top spot? Tell us your favorite!

- On November 14th, we will vote for the nominees for best team of 2014. This is the one thing that has nothing to do with the Marlins. Among the non-Marlins teams, who was the team of the year, using whatever qualifications you like.

- On November 17th, we will close all of our polling and discuss the winners!

Then, SBNation.com's MLB team will take the four-to-five best winners among the whole league's worth of votes and they will vote on a winner at the league level! One of your favorite Marlins moments could be a winner for the entire league this year!

So get in on the action today! In the comments below, nominate your favorite candidates for each of the above categories. For most important hit, pitching appearance, or defensive play, include a highlight link to help us narrow down which one you are referring to. I'll collect all of your favorites and we will vote on them as a community! Voting ends on November 16th! Let's get the celebration of the Marlins' 2014 season started!
