Last night, the Miami Marlins got another spectacular performance from Jose Fernandez in their 7-0 win over the Washington Nationals. Tonight, their other, quieter strong performer, Nathan Eovaldi, gets a crack at the Nats, as he faces off against Tanner Roark.
Pitching Matchup
Proj Win% | Proj ERA | FIP | ERA | Marlins | Nationals | ERA | FIP | Proj ERA | Proj Win% |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
.440 | 4.50 | 3.51 | 3.40 | Eovaldi | Roark | 1.19 | 2.30 | 5.58 | .339 |
Nathan Eovaldi has quietly been going about his business, looking good on the mound and throwing some hard heat. Roark is making his first start of his big league career after nine bullpen outings. With Eovaldi pitching so well, I expect good things tonight.
Lineup
Order | Player | Proj wOBA vs. RHP |
---|---|---|
1 | Chris Coghlan | .315 |
2 | Donovan Solano | .278 |
3 | Christian Yelich | .332 |
4 | Giancarlo Stanton | .389 |
5 | Justin Ruggiano | .308 |
6 | Logan Morrison | .350 |
7 | Adeiny Hechavarria | .270 |
8 | Jeff Mathis | .257 |
9 | Pitcher | --- |
Is there any reason the regular bench player Ruggiano should be hitting in front of Logan Morrison? That just doesn't make any sense. Chris Coghlan returns to third base after playing left field last night, so we should keep an eye on his defense.
