The Miami Marlins and Chicago Cubs will do battle today, insomuch as a group of National League bottom-dwellers can do battle this late into the season. Both teams are in their first series of the final month of the regular season, so the challenge may be to find value in September performances as the losing season dwindles down. Today, Henderson Alvarez and Travis Wood will look to provide some value for their respective teams.
