Triple-A: New Orleans Zephyrs
L 2-8 vs. Memphis Redbirds
Kyle Jensen, LF: 3-for-4, 2B, HR (11), 2 RBI
Brian Flynn, SP: 6 IP, 9 H, 3 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 5 K
New Orleans fell back to .500 with another home loss, this time against Memphis. The Redbirds scored five runs in the top of the ninth and Boone Whiting struck out nine Zephyrs in six innings. Kyle Jensen did have a nice day at the plate, but the rest of the Zephyrs lineup couldn't seem to get going.
Double-A: Jacksonville Suns
L 6-8 @ Montgomery Biscuits
Derek Dietrich, 2B: 3-for-4, 2B, HR (11), 3 RBI
Justin Nicolino, 5.1 IP, 7 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 2 K
Jacksonville dropped a 3 1/2 hour game in Montgomery on Tuesday, failing to hold on to a two-run lead in the eighth inning. Derek Dietrich had another big day at the plate and Danny Black stole two bases to lead the Suns lineup. Dietrich has gone deep in three of his last five games.
High Class A: Jupiter Hammerheads
L 2-3 vs. Bradenton Marauders
Sharif Othman, C: 1-for-4, HR (1), 2 RBI
Jose Urena, SP: 7 IP, 6 H, 2 ER, 0 BB, 6 K
Jose Urena was fantastic in seven innings but he got no run support from a struggling Jupiter lineup. On the bright side, Sharif Othman, who is known primarily for his defense and ridiculous pop times behind the plate, hit his first home run of the season.
Low Class A: Greensboro Grasshoppers
W 9-5 vs. Hickory Crawdads
Jesus Solorzano, RF: 2-for-5, HR (13), 3 RBI
Colin Moran, 3B: 2-for-5, 2B, SB (1), RBI
Matt Milroy, SP: 6 IP, 6 H, 5 ER, 3 BB, 3 K
Every player in the Greensboro lineup either reached base or drove in a run in their impressive 9-5 over Hickory. The Hoppers worked their way back from an early four-run deficit. Jesus Solorzano hit a three-run bomb and Colin Moran recorded his first ever professional stolen base.
Short-Season: Batavia Muckdogs
W 9-3 vs. Auburn Doubledays
Carlos Lopez, RF: 3-for-5, 2B, RBI
Max Garner, SP: 3 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 3 BB, 1 K
Max Garner, the 2013 late round draft pick out of Baylor, pitched three solid innings and he got an excess amount of run support from the reliable Muckdogs lineup. Carlos Lopez and Juan Avila had three hits apiece and every single player in the Batavia lineup recorded a hit in the win.
