Triple-A: New Orleans Zephyrs
L 3-5 @ Omaha Storm Chasers
Kevin Mattison, CF: 2-for-4, RBI
Sam Dyson, SP: 7 IP, 7 H, 5 ER, 2 BB, 2 K
Omaha scored a single run in five consecutive innings to take down the Zephyrs in Nebraska on Sunday night. Despite going seven innings, Sam Dyson gave up five earned runs to the Kansas City affiliated Storm Chasers.
Double-A: Jacksonville Suns
L 0-3 @ Montgomery Biscuits
Brent Keys, RF: 2-for-4
Adam Conley, SP: 7.2 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 4 K
Adam Conley almost pitched eight scoreless innings, but Collin Cargill came in and gave up a three-run homer to Ryan Brett after Conley was pulled. It was a reasonable decision to pull Conley, but it definitely backfired in a major way this time. In other news, Brent Keys had two hits in the leadoff position in his first game since being promoted from Jupiter. It's only been one game, but it looks like Keys is going to continue to hit the way he did in Jupiter up in the Southern League.
High Class A: Jupiter Hammerheads
L 6-7 (F/11) @ Charlotte Stone Crabs
Yordy Cabrera, RF: 3-for-4, 2B, RBI
Josh Hodges, SP: 4.0 IP, 10 H, 5 ER, 1 BB, 2 K
Richie Shaffer doubled in Drew Vettleson in the 11th inning to send Charlotte fans home happy on Sunday night. Yordy Cabrera, who was playing in right field for a change, had three hits, including a double. While he still hasn't been all that impressive, Cabrera's numbers have improved across the board since being promoted from Greensboro earlier this year.
Low Class A: Greensboro Grasshoppers
W 3-2 @ Hagerstown Suns
Cameron Flynn, CF: 2-for-5, RBI
Chad James, SP: 5 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 3 BB, 4 K
Cameron Flynn drove in Austin Dean with an RBI single in the top of the ninth to push the Hoppers over Hagerstown. Flynn appears to be primed to finish his breakout season in a strong fashion. Chad James pitched four solid innings before being replaced by Mason Hope in the Grasshoppers victory.
Short-Season: Batavia Muckdogs
L 1-5 @ Mahoning Valley Scrappers
Felix Munoz, 1B: 3-for-4, 2B
Trevor Williams, SP: 3 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 2 K
Batavia struggled to put runs on the board against Scrappers starter Caleb Hamrick. The Muckdogs fall to 34-30 and head off to Auburn for a three-game series against the Washington affiliated Doubledays.
Rookie: GCL Marlins
