Miami Marlins Daily Minor League Report: August 16

Justin Nicolino delivered by far his best performance yet in Double-A, striking out an impressive 13 batters in six innings pitched.

Star third base prospect Mike Olt struggled this year in the Rangers organization, and has shown little improvement since his trade to the Cubs. He's batted .116 for his new team, giving him an overall season line of .192/.280/.384.

Nicolino struck out 13 batters. I don't think I need to qualify that - the numbers speak for themselves. Nicolino pitched an impressive game.

The GCL Marlins miraculously scored three runs, despite only  collecting three hits and striking out ten times. Unfortunately, their pitching couldn't quite deliver and the team was easily beat.
