Henderson Alvarez Makes Debut
Henderson Alvarez, the prized starting pitcher that came over in the Toronto trade, made his first regular season start in a Marlins uniform. Alvarez looked fairly impressive in five innings. He did give up three earned runs, but Alvarez only needed sixty-right pitches to make it through five and Atlanta scored all three of their runs in the first inning. Alvarez definitely looks ready to blossom into the top of the rotation starter that he has the potential to be.
Ozuna, Solano Power Offense
Marcell Pzuna's lack of power since his MLB promotion a few months ago has been a little bit worrisome. On Thursday, Ozuna hit only his third homer, a second inning bomb off of Julip Teheran. Hopefully, this is a sign of more power to come for Ozuna. Later in the game, Ozuna came up clutch with an RBI single to tie the game. He finished with three hits on the night. Pinch-hitting in the ninth inning against Braves closer Craig Kimbrel, Donovan Solano drove in the game-winning run from second with a line drive single to right.
