The Miami Marlins will face off against the Atlanta Braves again in Turner Field tonight. If this were an average Wednesday, there would be more to say about both pitchers involved in the pitching matchup, but this may not quite be a normal day. This might actually be Ricky Nolasco's last start as a Marlin, and he'll do it against Mike Minor.
Pitching Matchup
Proj Win% | Proj ERA | FIP | ERA | Marlins | Braves | ERA | FIP | Proj ERA | Proj Win% |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
.457 | 4.34 | 3.55 | 3.93 | Nolasco | Minor | 2.98 | 3.47 | 3.94 | .497 |
Guys, this could seriously be Ricky Nolasco's final start as a Mariin, as the team is desperate to trade him away this month. If that is the case, there should be some commemorating of the most tenured pitcher in Marlins team history.
Oh, and Mike Minor is pitching against us. He seems pretty good this year. Whatever.
Lineup
Order | Player | Proj wOBA vs. LHP |
---|---|---|
1 | Justin Ruggiano | .328 |
2 | Ed Lucas | --- |
3 | Giancarlo Stanton | .417 |
4 | Marcell Ozuna | .327 |
5 | Placido Polanco | .296 |
6 | Donovan Solano | .290 |
7 | Adeiny Hechavarria | .291 |
8 | Jeff Mathis | .272 |
9 | Pitcher | --- |
Yes, Justin Ruggiano is in the lineup, but this set of players is just terrible. Aside from Ruggiano, Stanton, and Ozuna, no player here projects to be a quality major-league hitter. And we have Jeff Mathis, eater of worlds but generally terrible hitter still in the lineup.
Logan Morrison gets the night off likely to get some rest on his worn knee. Rob Brantly is off once again due to his struggles against lefties.
Bold Prediction: Braves def. Marlins 5-3
