Miami Marlins Daily Minor League Report: July 1

Only one Marlins affiliate was able to play a complete game as thunderstorms plagued the Southeastern states. Justin Nicolino struck out seven for Jupiter and Adam Conley struggled in Jacksonville.

New Orleans lost a tough game to Omaha in twelve innings on Monday night. Max Ramirez singled off of an exhausted looking Chris Hatcher to end it. New Orleans falls to 41-43 with the loss.

In a game ended early to thunderstorms, Jacksonville lost to Pensacola. The Blue Wahoos had a four-run fourth against Jacksonville starting pitcher Adam Conley that put them ahead just before the rain started. It was a night to forget for Adam Conley, who had to be affected by the stormy conditions.

Justin Nicolino pitched 5-plus innings, leading Jupiter to a 5-0 win over Charlotte in a makeup game. Nicolino had yet to have the dominant outing with seven or more strikeouts in 2013 before his outing on Monday. He continues to make his case for a promotion to the Southern League.
