Attendance: 41,490
Hero of the Game: Marcell Ozuna (0.437 WPA)
Goat of the Game: Ricky Nolasco (-0.170 WPA)
Play of the Game: Marcell Ozuna singled to right in the eighth inning. Ed Lucas scored. Giancarlo Stanton advanced to third base. (+0.290 WPA)

The Miami Marlins faced the best-looking Tim Lincecum we have seen in a while. Lincecum dominated the Fish through seven innings, striking out eight batters and walking just one and allowing four hits. The Marlins' offense seemed powerless to stop him, and were it not for the early Logan Morrison solo home run, things would have looked very ugly heading into the seventh inning. Morrison's homer was the first and only hit the team had through the first six innings.

Meanwhile, Ricky Nolasco struggled in a game he and the Marlins could have used as an audition for a potential suitor. The San Francisco Giants might be interested in acquiring Nolasco, but not the way he performed last night. The Marlins right-hander had just one strikeout versus two walks and allowed three runs in 5 2/3 innings of work. It was a less-than-stellar night for Nolasco and it should not help his candidacy as top pitching prize at the trade deadline.

But thankfully for the Fish, their offense bailed the team out. Lincecum gave up a two-out triple to Logan Morrison and a single to Marcell Ozuna, scoring the two tying runs the Marlins needed to stay alive. Then, in the eighth inning, the Fish did it again with two outs, as Ozuna, Greg Dobbs, and Adeiny Hechavarria delivered back-to-back-to-back singles to drive in the three runs the team needed to pull away.

Steve Cishek came into the ninth and delivered a shaky outing leading to his 12th save of the season. The Marlins have assured themselves at least a split of the four-game series in San Francisco.
