For Miami, 2013 has been all about timing.

The squad's timing at the plate had been consistent throughout the series with New York, and the Marlins completed their first three game sweep of the season over the weekend after an 11-6 victory over the Mets on Sunday afternoon.

Miami got off to quick start off of Harvey in the bottom of the first. Juan Pierre and Ed Lucas led off with consecutive singles, and after getting Derek Dietrich to strikeout, right fielder Marcell Ozuna hit a triple to center field that gave the Marlins an early 2-0 lead.

Chris Coghlan extended his hitting streak to nine games with an RBI double to left which made it a 3-0 contest. Harvey had only given up three first inning runs combined in his previous 11 starts before giving up three to the Marlins.

New York got on the board off of Miami starter Kevin Slowey in the top of the second inning. Lucas Duda led off the inning with a solo home run to right field which made it a 3-1 game.

With runners on first and second and one out in the bottom of the second, Miami got the run back on an RBI single off the bat of Lucas, his second hit on the day which gave the Marlins a 4-1 advantage.

Mets shortstop Omar Quintanilla hit a solo home run off of Slowey in the third, and first baseman Ike Davis took Slowey deep in the fourth to tie the game at four.

Slowey continued to struggle in the fifth, and was replaced by Wade LeBlanc, who gave up RBI hits to Marlon Byrd and Ike Davis to give the Mets a 6-4 edge.

Over his four and a third innings, Slowey gave up six runs and walked two while striking out three.

Harvey was replaced by Scott Rice in the sixth after going five innings while walking two and striking out five.

With one out, Pierre, Lucas, and Derek Dietrich all walked, and after Mets manager Terry Collins decided to leave Rice in the game, Ozuna doubled to left field to tie the game at six. With one out and the infield back, Chris Coghlan hit a ground ball to second base which allowed the Marlins to regain the lead.

Lucas pushed the Marlins' lead to two runs with a two out RBI double in the 7th off of Brandon Lyon.

Greg Dobbs made it an 11-6 game with a three run home run off of Latroy Hawkins in the eighth, and A.J. Ramos, Mike Dunn, and Steve Cishek kept the Mets' offense quiet as the Marlins completed the three game sweep.

Miami begins a three game series in Philadelphia on Monday night before heading to New York to face the Mets again next weekend.

According to MLB.com's Joe Frisaro, the Marlins optioned Jordan Brown to Triple-A New Orleans and are expected to activate Casey Kotchman from the disabled list tomorrow.

Miami also designated lefty Wade LeBlanc for assignment and will call up lefty Edgar Olmos from Jacksonville.
