The Miami Marlins are looking to come off of their impressive win over the St. Louis Cardinals last night, but they will have to do that with Tom Koehler on the hill versus the always difficult Lance Lynn.

The Miami Marlins surprisingly won a game against one of the best teams in baseball in the St. Louis Cardinals. Jose Fernandez and company delivered last night, but this afternoon's matchup is going to be much tougher, with Lance Lynn taking the bump for the Cards versus Tom Koehler.

Pitching Matchup

Proj Win% Proj ERA FIP ERA Marlins Cardinals ERA FIP Proj ERA Proj Win%
.374 5.17 4.03 3.91 Koehler Lynn 3.00 2.81 3.92 .504

The Miami Marlins are trying to get away with Koehler as a starting pitcher, but so far this season it has worked decently; he has an acceptable 4.14 ERA and 4.33 FIP as a starter this season, and those numbers are significantly better than what Alex Sanabia and Wade LeBlanc were putting up before Koehler entered the rotation.

Meanwhile, apparently Lance Lynn is really good. How do the Cardinals develop these guys?

Lineup

Order Player Proj wOBA vs. RHP
1 Juan Pierre .292
2 Ed Lucas ---
3 Giancarlo Stanton .395
4 Marcell Ozuna .307
5 Derek Dietrich .310
6 Adeiny Hechavarria .274
7 Greg Dobbs .285
8 Rob Brantly .297
9 Pitcher ---

The Marlins have run with this lineup for the last few games, which brings up the question of what is wrong with Logan Morrison now. He understandably sat the final game of the Milwaukee Brewers series, but the Fish have now kept him out of two more games with righty pitchers thanks to a tight back apparently. Morrison has now sat for four straight days, including the Thursday off-day.

Notes

- I will not be around for today's game, as I continue my power studying run for my test. Expect me to be back to regular game thread activity by July.

Bold Prediction: Cardinals def. Marlins 4-0
