Miami Marlins vs. San Diego Padres: Game 33 Thread and Ichthyomancy

The Miami Marlins and San Diego Padres will tangle in the first 2013 edition of Late Night with the Fish! It will be Wade LeBlanc to face off against Andrew Cashner.

There is a large web of trades that surrounds two of the players shown here, Wade LeBlanc and Anthony Rizzo. Not seen is Padres starter Andrew Cashner, who isn't that good too.

Welcome to Late Night with the Fish, 2013 edition!

The Miami Marlins make their first west coast trip of the season, starting up a three-game series versus the San Diego Padres tonight, with Wade LeBlanc on the mound versus Andrew Cashner.

Pitching Matchup

Proj Win% Proj ERA FIP ERA Marlins Padres ERA FIP Proj ERA Proj Win%
.413 4.76 4.80 6.23 LeBlanc Cashner 4.24 4.09 3.95 .501

LeBlanc is a former Padres player who was traded to the Marlins for catcher John Baker. Cashner is a former Chicago Cubs pitcher, and he was traded from the Cubs in return for Anthony Rizzo. One of the three teams listed is happy about their trades.

Lineup

Order Player Proj wOBA vs. RHP
1 Juan Pierre .294
2 Chris Valaika .267
3 Placido Polanco .278
4 Justin Ruggiano .312
5 Marcell Ozuna .304
6 Greg Dobbs .286
7 Miguel Olivo .280
8 Adeiny Hechavarria .274

The Marlins are looking to have similar success against Cashner as they did against Roy Halladay yesterday, but it is hard to imagine the team clubbing three home runs in Petco Park tonight. Still, it should be interesting to see if the Fish make more outs than they customarily do, which is a lot. Also, it should be interesting to see if the team can adjust to moving to an extreme pitcher's park after banging the ball around in a hitter's park for the last four games.

Notes

- I'll be here for most of the game, as I've got a soda in hand and am ready to stay up to watch the Marlins. Who will be sticking around for all of this west coast game? I know Jigokusabre will feel comfortable watching these games for a change.

Bold Prediction: Padres def. Marlins 2-0
