The Miami Marlins may not be much in the way of an attraction, but there was at least one milestone a Marlin was going to reach this season. And in tonight's game against the Philadelphia Phillies, that Marlin reached that historic mark.
Juan PIerre became just the 14th player since 1900 to reach 600 stolen bases in his career, as he stole a base in the first inning of the game between the Marlins and Phillies. Pierre led off the game with a walk and moved up to second base with a Donovan Solano single. Then, on a 1-0 pitch from starter Kyle Kendrick, Pierre took off for third base and beat out a throw cleanly for steal number 600.
As Fish Striper Jigokusabre also pointed out, Pierre is in a strange list full of pretty good players.

If you take out the names from before 1900, those were some impressive players. Even the weakest of those names, guys like Willie Wilson (38.8 FanGraphs Wins Above Replacement, or fWAR, career) and Bert Campaneris (44.8) were solid major league lifers. The best of them were Hall of Famers like Wagner, Morgan, and Collins. And then all the way at the bottom of the list of potential players of this ilk is Pierre, who was also a major league regular for years but spent a good amount of time on the bench in the late 2000's.
Donovan Solano did not follow through with a double steal, and as a result he was a part of a double play that also drove Pierre in to put the Marlins 1-0 in the first inning. The Marlins are now tied with the Phillies 1-1 in the third inning.
