The Miami Marlins will finally come home to their (sparsely-filled) Marlins Park, as the Fish make their season debut at home versus the Atlanta Braves. Due to time constraints, I'll make this preview short, but please put your Ichthyomancy picks down. Ichthy weekly reviews will start this weekend.

The Marlins are puling a number of interesting things in this matchup versus the lefty Maholm. With the Fish out of options at first base, they are turning to lefty Greg Dobbs to play the position and hit cleanup against a left-handed pitcher. This sounds like a move waiting for a disastrous turn, even despite Dobbs's so-called "clutch" hitting skills. Also, the team is turning to Rob Brantly rather than backup Miguel Olivo despite having three catchers on the team with Kyle Skipworth on the roster. This indicates that the Fish have some confidence in Brantly's ability to continue to deliver, possibly as more of a full-time player.
Notes
- I will be out for the beginning of the game, as I'll be heading home from a lecture at around start time. Hoping to come back by 8 pm EST and join the thread!
