The Miami Marlins scored some more runs in today's game, scoring another three runs on Jon Niese and the New York Mets. The Fish had a 3-2 lead and, at one point, held a 76.8 percent chance of winning the game. But the Mets pulled a comeback from the one-run lead, and the heart-breaking part of the game was that the Fish were defeated at the hands of a former Marlin.
Catcher John Buck, who played two years for the Marlins for the last two years and struggled to survive at the plate, continued his hot streak to start the season by banging out a two-RBI double to break open the 3-2 game, and the Mets promptly re-took the lead in the seventh inning with a Daniel Murphy triple. The Mets ripped off three more runs and finished the Fish off 7-3.
The Marlins' lone hero on offense was, once again, Greg Dobbs, who put up a two-hit day in the loss with two runs driven in. Dobbs hit two singles and also scored on a wild play on an error by Ruben Tejada. Giancarlo Stanton also contributed a decent game, notching two singles.
