The Miami Marlins come to New York City to face the New York Mets for the first time in 2013, and on this trip they will look to take their first game of the season against a Mets team that is 2-1 and looking passable. While the Fish struggled against the Washington Nationals, the Mets took two of three versus the San Diego Padres in their season-opening series.

Alex Sanabia is getting his first opportunity as a starting pitcher for the Marlins since late 2011. In 2010, Sanabia impressed the team and almost made the fifth starter spot, were it not for an injury that held him out of parts of that season. Then in 2012, injuries held him back again, stunting any possible development. In 2012, his minor league numbers in Triple-A left much to be desired (4.07 ERA, 4.27 FIP), but the Fish are out of starting pitcher options as of right now and will turn to him for the first time in a while.
Jeremy Hefner finished off the Marlins's 2012 season with a nice start as the Mets beat the Fish. He gets the first start against the Marlins in 2013, and the Fish are hoping his quietly decent 2012 (3.66 FIP) was just a mirage.
Lineup
Pre-wrote this thread early. Fish Stripers, I request assistance with the lineup!
Notes
- Casey Kotchman is on the DL, as we noted earlier. As of writing, still unsure as to whom the Marlins will bring up, though Kyle Skipworth was the name to consider.
- I will be present for tonight's game! Come join me!
