The Miami Marlins won last night against the New York Mets, but part of the cost was the devastating injury to Giancarlo Stanton that should keep him shelved for a significant amount of time. The Fish will try to pick up the pieces and recover against Jeremy Hefner, as the Marlins send Kevin Slowey to face him on the mound.
Pitching Matchup
Proj Win% | Proj ERA | FIP | ERA | Marlins | Mets | ERA | FIP | Proj ERA | Proj Win% |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
.417 | 4.72 | 3.70 | 2.43 | Slowey | Hefner | 5.14 | 7.90 | 5.09 | .381 |
The Miami Marlins are sending out Kevin Slowey in the hopes that he can continue his impressive, if lucky, early season performance. The Mets will send out Jeremy Hefner in the hopes that he can resemble a major league pitcher for five or six innings tonight. Hint: he has not done that thus far this season, except for his one start against - you guessed it - the Miami Marlins!
Lineup
Order | Player | Proj wOBA vs. RHP |
---|---|---|
1 | Juan Pierre | .301 |
2 | Donovan Solano | .277 |
3 | Placido Polanco | .281 |
4 | Greg Dobbs | .286 |
5 | Justin Ruggiano | .314 |
6 | Marcell Ozuna | --- |
7 | Miguel Olivo | --- |
8 | Nick Green | --- |
Marcell Ozuna is in the lineup for the very first game after Stanton's hamstring injury. The Marlins are hoping that he can provide value while he helps to replace Stanton, but Marlins fans should hope he holds his own given his rapid promotion to the majors.
Notes
- I will not be here for the early portion of the game, as I have presentations to attend. There's an off-chance I'll be here very late, so keep the seat warm for me gang!
