Coming into Friday night's game, Marlins starter Josh Johnson had never lost to the Nationals. Ryan Zimmerman wanted to change that to start the second half of the season.

The All-Star Break may have given the Marlins time to rest their bodies, but it didn't alleviate the steep decline that the Fish have had in recent weeks. Friday was just as unkind.
Josh Johnson had a rough night on the mound to the Nationals, who won for the first time against Johnson. Previously, the Nats were 0-8 against JJ.
Johnson allowed 11 hits for the second time in his career, and the other time he gave up that many also came this season (4/11 vs. Philadelphia).
The most poignant hit for the Nationals came from Ryan Zimmerman, who homered in the third inning to make the score at the time 3-0. It was Zimmerman's first career long ball off Johnson.
While Zimmerman did it with his bat, Jordan Zimmermann threw six shutout innings against the Marlins.
The Marlins did get their lone run of the night off the Washington bullpen when John Buck hit an RBI single in the seventh inning to bring home Justin Ruggiano.
The two go back at it Saturday at 7:10 p.m.
