Saturday night things started sketchy for the Marlins. Anibal Sanchez took the mound and gave up two doubles and a single in the first, but struck out the side before more than two runs could cross the plate. He certainly settled down after that as those three hits would be the only hits he allowed in his seven innings of work. Anibal managed to strike out 14 Diamondbacks! Ian Kennedy was no slouch either. He pitched a scoreless game until the 7th when Omar Infante hit a triple and Jose Reyes drove him in with a single.
With the Marlins down 2-1 in the 8th, D. Hernandez came in to pitch for the Diamondbacks. Logan Morrison, his first hitter, hit a solo shot to right that tied the game. Hernandez would then strike out the side.
The bottom of the 9th started with a Coghlan strike out before Stanton would single. Stanton would advance to second on a ground out from Bonifacio. The Diamondbacks decided to walk Jose Reyes and pitch to Hanley who was in a 0-for-26 slump. Well Hanley found the right time to break out of it. Hanley singled to left and Stanton came around to score to give the Fish a walk-off win! Steve Cishek got the W.
Hopefully this brings the Marlins out of their slump and Hanley as well. The Fish look to win game three of the four game series today at 1:10.
