The Miami Marlins will get a chance at R.A. Dickey of the New York Mets one more time this season, as the Mets and Marlins face off in the second to last game of the season. This is also the game Adam Greenberg will appear in, as well as the last live attendance game of the year for me!
Pitching Matchup
Proj Win% | Proj ERA | FIP | ERA | Marlins | Mets | ERA | FIP | Proj ERA | Proj Win% |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
--- | --- | 5.11 | 4.94 | Turner | Dickey | 2.69 | 3.24 | --- | --- |
Jacob Turner is developing well as a Marlin. R.A. Dickey has been spectacular against this team. Will Turner be able to match Dickey? Probably not, but it's worth watching!
Lineup
Order | Player | Proj wOBA vs. RHP |
---|---|---|
1 | Bryan Petersen | .316 |
2 | Gorkys Hernandez | .275 |
3 | Jose Reyes | .340 |
4 | GIancarlo Stanton | .379 |
5 | Carlos Lee | .324 |
6 | Rob Brantly | --- |
7 | Donovan Solano | .275 |
8 | Gil Velazquez | --- |
This lineup has not done well the last two times it has faced Dickey, so I do not see how it could change. Still, the Marlins have to give it a shot, and they will send their best group remaining out onto the field.
Notes
- I'm almost certain you won't be able to see me, but I'll be at tonight's game in Section 14, Row 7! If you are attending live, come say hi!
- I'll be watching Turner, Dickey, and especially Greenberg, who makes his long-awaited return to the majors to get one at-bat with the Marlins, the team that put him on the shelf seven years ago.
Bold Prediction: Mets def. Marlins 3-0
