Weekly Ichthyomancy Update: Final Edition

The final Weekly Ichthyomancy Update until the season-long contest is decided. Will it be Jeremy Hulme or Jigokusabre who comes out on top?

This is it. It all comes down to this. Throughout the entire season, many have played Ichthyomancy, but only two players have stuck to it night in and night out, and the game will finally go down to those very two players. The 2012 Ichthyomancy crown will go to one Fish Stripes reader between Jeremy Hulme and Jigokusabre, with the first-half crown well in the hands of SuperRadz. But with second half and total championships still available, which one of those two gentlemen will win it all?

Oh boy, this race is tight. Jeremy has a seven-point lead as of Monday night, with only two games remaining in the season. Now, given that you can only get at most six points in any given game, this sounds like a tough climb to make in two games for Jigokusabre.

But it is not as bad of a jump when you consider that tomorrow, October 2, will be another Double Ichthy Points game! With the Marlins debuting Adam Greenberg and sending Jacob Turner to the mound against R.A. Dickey for the team's final shot at beating Dickey, I figured this would be a good game to have as the Double Ichthy Points game.

But wait, there's more! If that game turns into a dud for whatever reason (and with R.A. Dickey up there, it very well could for the Marlins), we will have another Double Ichthy Points game in the last game of the season, October 3. So there is a potential for two Double Ichthy Points games left this season, so Jeremy's lead is far from safe.

The race for the second half is a little more difficult, as it appears Jeremy has this one wrapped up. Still, anything could happen with two potential Double Ichthy Points games coming soon. This game has yet to be decided, and it will be an exciting final two games for these last two for the right to earn the Ichthyomancy Championship!
