The Marlins are going for the series win today.
Anibal Sanchez is on the mound for the Marlins. Anibal has pitched well in his last two starts. In a combined 12.1 innings he only allowed 2 runs per start. Of course, the Marlins didn't win either of those, because it seems that scoring runs when Anibal is on the hill is not something the team does. Sanchez is a rarity among Marlins pitchers, he does better in day games. So hopefully that will continue.
Dillon Gee gets the start for the Mets. Gee had a nice outing his last time on the mound going 7 innings, giving up only 3 hits and allowing 2 runs. But that is not indicative of most of his recent starts, where the opponent has scored enough runs to win the game and did in some cases. He is mainly a fastball (90 mph), curve and change pitcher. He does throw a slider and cutter on occasion but that is rare. Spotting his fastball is what he does best. He is a day game pitcher and the Marlins have never seen him before.
The Marlins starting lineup:
who knows.
Ichthyomancy hates day games of all stripes. Even the ones that happen every week.
Best of Luck to You!
