The Atlanta Braves are in town to play a 3-game set and the winner of the series will be in second place in the NL East when it is all said and done.
Brad Hand takes his first strides to the mound for the Marlins. This will be Hand's Major League Debut. Hand is a highly ranked pitching prospect for the Marlins, so it will be interesting to see him pitch. In the minors the lefty had a tendency to give away too many free passes. Hopefully he will be able to get the butterflies under control and will have command of pitches.
Tommy Hanson takes the mound for the Braves. Scoring runs off Hanson could prove to be problematic since the Marlins have never hit him very well. Hanson throws a fastball (91 mph), slider, curve and change. His slider, curve and change are all plus pitches. Hanson has been known to miss the strike zone from time to time and issue more than his share of walks.
The Marlins starting lineup is:
Coghlan, CF
Infante, 2B
LoMo, LF
Gaby, 1B
Dobbs, 3B
Stanton, RF
Buck, C
Boni, SS
Hand, P
Unsurprisingly, no changes.
Ichthyomancy really wants a win. Don't know how the Marlins are going to get it, don't care. Just want a win.
Best of Luck to You!
