The Marlins are in sweep avoidance mode. Which is never the mode the team wants be in and especially in a 4-game set. But yet, they are in it.
Javier Vazquez takes the mound for the Marlins. Javy wasn't quite as sharp in his last outing as he was in his previous two. But still, he went six innings and kept the Marlins in the game which is all the Marlins can ask for. Since his resurgence most of his starts have been on the road, but he normally puts up better numbers at home.
Zack Greinke gets the start for the Brewers. Greinke opened the season on the DL and therefore this will just be his seventh start of the season. He has yet to completely come back into form but from the looks of things he is getting awfully close to doing so. If he is on, he walks next to no one and strikes out a bunch. If he is not, he will issue a few free passes and the Fish will more easily put the ball into play. Greinke throws a fastball (92 mph), slider, curve and change. His slider has been by far his best pitch this season.
The Marlins starting lineup is as follows:
No changes there. Hopefully by now, they have figured out how to hit with runners on base. They have had a lot practice. While the practice hasn't yielded any results of which to speak, maybe all the try on fail will pay off tonight with some try and succeed.
More than likely some of the VEB faithful will be joining in the Open Thread tonight. And by joining I mean swarming in and taking over the thread and making it really hard to do our normal commenting on the game. If they do show up, you can join in the chaos if you wish. Me, I don't care to, but I will be monitoring thread.
Ichthyomancy really wants a win.
Best of Luck to You!
