Lots of stuff happening today, Jack McKeon was named as the new Marlins manager. Also he wasted no time in changing things around, like, Hanley Ramirez is not in the lineup. More on that later. Coghlan was sent to the DL and is headed to Alabama to see Dr. Andrews about his knee. And, oh yeah, the Angels are in town to play a three-game set.
Anibal Sanchez takes the hill for the Marlins. Anibal has been the one shining light in the Marlins rotation. And hopefully that trend will continue tonight. In his last outing went 7 innings and only allowed 2 runs, but of course the bullpen imploded and the Marlins lost. This will be Anibal's first start ever against the Angels.
Jered Weaver is on the mound for the Angels. If you play fantasy baseball you know exactly who Weaver is, if you don't, let me help you out, he is flat-out good. Weaver is coming off a complete game shutout of the Mariners in which he only allowed 5 hits and struck out 6. Weaver throws a fastball (90 mph), slider, curve and change and all of them are plus pitches. This will be Weaver's first ever start against the Marlins.
The Marlins starting lineup:
Boni, SS
LoMo, 2B
Gaby, 1B
Dobbs, RF
Lopez, 3B
Infante, 2B
Buck, C
Wise, CF
Anibal, P
Now, depending on what you want to believe, Hanley is not in the lineup because Jack didn't like the way he was running on Sunday or because he showed up late to the clubhouse today. Both are true, but I don't know which one carried the most weight or whether it was equal.
That is one interesting lineup.
Ichthyomancy is kinda sorta ready.
Best of Luck to You!
