The Marlins welcome the Philadelphia Phillies to town for a three-game set. In this series, the Marlins have a chance to make a huge dent in Phillies lead in the East. And if all goes perfectly, the Fish could take over the lead in the division.

The Marlins starting pitcher is Javier Vazquez. What to say about Javy? Really all one can hope for is that he goes six innings and keeps the Marlins in the game. He hasn't won a game all season at JRS and has a 7.56 ERA when pitching there. But it is the same with good and bad fortune, it can't last forever. That is of course, assuming, he can find some sort of a groove.

Joe Blanton gets the ball for the Phillies. Blanton is fresh off the DL for an elbow problem, so it is a little up in the air on what to expect from him tonight. He throws a fastball (89 mph), slider, cutter, curve and change. So far this season his cutter and change have been his best pitches. The should be able to make contact with him on the mound, what they do with it, remains to be seen.

The Marlins lineup is as follows:

Coghlan, CF
Bonifacio, LF
Ramirez, SS
Gaby, 1B
Stanton, RF
Dobbs, 3B
Buck, C
Infante, 2B
Vazquez, P

No surprise there.

Ichthyomancy is really hating Monday. But a Marlins win will make everything better.

Best of Luck to You!
