The Marlins are going for the split tonight. Also, the Marlins have lost 4 in-a-row to the Cubs in JRS and that streaks needs to come to an end.
Chris Volstad is on the mound for the Marlins. Volstad's last outing was kinda mixed. He gave up four runs in six innings of work, including one on a home run. But he did strikeout a season high seven batters. If he can keep the ball down and his sinker is actually sinking, he should keep the Marlins in the game. Since the 2010 All-Star break the Marlins are 15-5 when Chris takes the hill.
Casey Coleman gets the nod for the Cubs. Coleman was roughed up a bit his last time out. Giving up six runs on nine hits in four and a third innings. Control seems to be a big issue for him this season, so far his BB/9 is 6.28 and obviously that is pretty high. The Ft. Myers product throws a fastball (89 mph), slider, curve and change. His slider has been his best pitch this season but he doesn't throw it all that often. Coleman has made one start at JRS in his career going six innings and giving up three runs for the win.
The Marlins lineup is:
Coghlan, CF
Ramirez, SS
LoMo, LF
Gaby, 1B
Dobbs, 3B
Stanton, RF
Buck, C
Infante, 2B
Volstad, P
Same as last night. Well, they did score some runs with it.
Tonight is Fantasy Auction and FishStripes may be bidding.
If we do, and we have every year, we will be bidding on the Fox Sports Florida Suite Experience. (And whatever GameFish said we were bidding on earlier. I need to check with her on that.)
Anyways, here it is:
Fox Sports Florida Suite Experience
- Catered suite for 12 for Tuesday, July 19th
- One dozen baseballs
- Visit by Marlins Special Assistants and Hall of Famers Andre Dawson and Tony Perez (subject to availability)
- Live in-game segment with Jeff Conine and your group from the suite

We have never won this, but were really close to doing so last year. Maybe this is our year.
