Breakout the brooms Florida! The Marlins are going for the sweep!
It's Josh Johnson's turn in the rotation. JJ will be making his second start of the young season. In his last start JJ was most excellent, especially through five. In the sixth the started to labor a little and give up two hits, the only hits he allowed on the night. I'm not going to risk jinxing anything by telling you his career record against the National. But suffice it to say, it is really, really good.
The Natinals are sending John Lannon to the hill. The lefty will also be making his second start of the season. As you can see above, he had a nice outing against the Braves. Lannan mainly throws three piches: fastball, slider and change. He will mix in a curve from time to time but it is pretty rare. In the start against the Braves his fastball and slider where working best for him. I guess he is still the feel of his change, which is historically his best pitch. He must hate pitching at JRS, his career ERA there is 9.00. No reason to change that now.
There is a little change in lineup for tonight's game: Wes Helms will be the starting 3B.
Ichthyomancy has its broom in hand.
Best of Luck to You!
