The Marlins are in Cincinnati to play three against the Reds. Skyline chili spaghetti for everyone! This will be the start to a 7-game road trip.

Javier Vazquez takes the mound for the Marlins. Vazquez did get his velocity up a bit in his last start with his new focus on driving with his legs. That's the good news. The bad news is it didn't initially help his control with him walking four batters in the first two innings. He did settle down after that point and was able to command his pitches better. So maybe he has figured it out. Vazquez is novelty amongst Marlins pitchers, in that, he has pitched well in Great American Ballpark during his career. He has made three starts there while posing a 2.45 ERA.

Travis Wood gets the ball for the Reds. The young lefty has developed a pitching pattern for the year: every other start is at least a quality one or better. His last outing was a quality start, sooo... we are hoping to get the "other" this time out. Wood throws mainly a fastball (90 mph), cutter and change. He also will show a slider and a curve, but he doesn't throw them very often. Wood is fly-ball pitcher, which is an oddity for Great American, so it's not surprising that over his career he has had more success on the road than at home.

The Marlins lineup for tonight's contest:

Bonifacio, LF
Infante, 2B
Ramirez, SS
Gaby, 1B
Stanton, RF
Buck, C
Helms, 3B
Cousins, CF
Vazquez, P

Coghlan gets the night off to nurse his shoulder. LoMo didn't make the trip and will watching at home just like most of us. So expect about a million tweets from him during the game.

Ichthyomancy is so glad it is Friday.

Best of Luck to You!
