The Marlins spring season opener is today.
Oh sure, the game doesn't count for anything, but that is not important. What is important is that baseball is back - albeit in its infantile stages. But you start where you start. And today we start with the spring traditional opening game against the University of Miami.
Javier Vazquez takes the hill first. He is expected to go about two innings or about 20-30 pitches. He will be followed by Chad James and Brad Hand, and probably some others.
The Marlins initial batting order will be: (via Joe Capozzi)
CF Chris Coghlan
2B Omar Infante
SS Hanley Ramirez
RF Mike Stanton
LF Logan Morrison
1B Gaby Sanchez
C John Buck
DH Wes Helms
3B Matt Dominguez
All the guys listed above will get at least one AB.
The game is at RDS and the start time is 1:05 pm.
Get use to the 1:05 pm start time for the spring because it will be showing up a lot. It is hard to get a full 18-holes in if the game starts much later.
Folks, baseball has returned.
(Aside: typing with one hand sucks. Insert your crude joke here.)
