Florida Marlins join forces with The Clevelander at New Ballpark

The Florida Marlins and the Clevelander have joined forces to enhance the pool experience at the Marlins New Ballpark.

The press release:

The Florida Marlins and The Clevelander today announced a partnership that will bring a unique and authentic South Beach experience to the New Marlins Ballpark. The left field pool area, formerly known as La Playa, will be transformed into The Clevelander, an exciting, poolside venue that will feature great food, entertainment and private event space year-round. The announcement was made by Marlins President, David Samson and The Clevelander's General Manager, Mike Palma. The Clevelander area will hold approximately 120 fans and will also offer Field Level seats, select table service located beside the Marlins bullpen, and a menu of great

Clevelander classic food selections with a ballpark twist. The Clevelander will also be home to the exciting entertainment of the original South Beach location, including dancers and DJs live from the pool area. The new poolside bar and grill will also be open for extended periods following each Marlins home game, and will also be available for private events for corporations, social groups and friendly gatherings.

"The Marlins are proud to join forces with this legendary South Beach entertainment venue," said Marlins President, David Samson. "The New Marlins Ballpark will provide many fun and distinct experiences, highlighted by this new pool-side entertainment area. The Clevelander fits our vision perfectly as it has offered a unique blend of delicious food and beverage and exciting entertainment to Miami for over 70 years. We are thrilled that our partnership will extend this South Beach tradition to the New Marlins Ballpark!"

"The Clevelander is known for our iconic location on South Beach, but we have always been looking for great opportunities to expand our brand's presence in the Miami community," said Mike Palma, General Manager of The Clevelander. "When we were approached by the Marlins, we saw it as the ideal opportunity for two iconic brands to merge and create energy and entertainment in an amazing new space for the people of Miami to enjoy."

About The Clevelander: A true icon amongst South Beach Miami hotels, restaurants, bars and entertainment venues, The Clevelander is back in action after a multi-million dollar renovation and upgrade to the ultimate one-stop destination experience. At the center of the Art Deco District on Ocean Drive, the Clevelander Hotel has expanded to include 60 revamped rooms and ROCKSTAR Suites, two rooftop decks with ocean-front and city views, enhanced poolside bars, a new café-style menu, and its indoor music and dance venue - the 1020 music lounge. The 70-year old landmark among South Beach Miami hotels famous for its fun parties, year-round entertainment and exceptional service is back stronger than ever showcasing the hottest DJ's, bands, dancers, musicians, models and performance groups.

GameFish and I strolled by The Clevelander on Saturday and I must say this, the renovation looked very nice from the outside. I'm a little surprised that The Marlinlander wasn't the chosen name for the section by the pool. For those who don't remember when the Marlins were playing the Cleveland Indians in the 1997 World Series The Clevelander changed its name to The Marlinlander and that little bit of history should live on at the ballpark.

But either way, it is nice to have them onboard.
