While we all love it when the Marlins visit the Brewers since we are regaled with stories about brats, beer, cheese, milk shakes, haunted hotels and we get to try to choose a winner in the famous sausage race, not to mention the unbelievably kind hospitality. However, it is always better to leave the City of Festivals on a winning note. Though, it isn't always easy to do, but today, the Marlins will try and do just that. The Marlins are looking the split the series with the Brewers in today's game.

This is the Brewers home finale. They will finish the season on the road.

Adalberto Mendez takes the mound for the Marlins. This kid really needs a nickname. Mendez has been perplexing, in a good way, since joining the Marlins rotation. In his last start, for example, he went 7 innings only allowing 1 run but gave up 10 hits. Sometimes he walks a few too many and sometimes he doesn't. Sometimes he strikeouts a lot of hitters and sometimes he doesn't. Sometimes he gives up a lot of hits and sometimes he gives up next to none. The one constant in his pitching is that he doesn't give up runs. And that is a good thing. This will be his first start against the Brewers, needless to say.

Chris Capuano is on tap for the Brewers. The lefty has been quite solid since rejoining the Brewers rotation. The Marlins saw him earlier in the season, June 3, and he only lasted 3.2 innings. But that was still when he was trying to come back from two Tommy John surgeries. He is a different pitcher now. Oh sure, he is still a fastball, slider, change pitcher but he relies more on his fastball and change now. If he is able to spot his 88 mph fastball, it is probably his most effective pitch, but his change has merit.

Don't forget to make your selection in the Sausage Race, the point does count.

Ichthyomancy is ready for the next to last Sunday game of the season.

Best of Luck to You!
