Open Thread and Ichthyomancy: Cubs at Marlins (9/17)

Yesterday was the last off-day of the year. Hopefully everyone is good and rested because the team has a long stretch to closeout the season. The Marlins will play 17 games in-a-row, 10 at home, 7 on the road. And first up is the Chicago Cubs. The Cubs are on a bit of a hot streak having won their last 3 games and 6 of their last 10.

Alex Sanabia takes the hill for the Marlins. Sanabia will be making his first start after serving his suspension. Alex will be pitching on six days of rest, which is probably a good thing seeing how he has all ready thrown more innings than ever before in his young career. His was very good in his last start pitching 6.2 innings of shutout ball while only giving up 3 hits.

Ryan Dempster is on the mound for the Cubs. You remember Dempster, he pitched for the Marlins from 1998-2002. Ryan is coming off one of his best starts of the season going 7 innings allowing 0 runs on 3 hits. He is a fast ball, slider, splitter pitcher now. While his slider is his most effective pitch, the splitter has also been pretty decent. He has been tough on the Fish in the past.

Ichthyomancy is good to go.
