Open Thread and Ichthyomancy: Marlins at Nationals (9/12)

Breakout the brooms Florida because the Marlins are going for the sweep.

Chris Volstad takes the mound for the Marlins. Volstad wasn't sharp in his last two outings and was lucky to go five innings in each. Volstad being a young pitcher, goes through these ups and downs where for a couple of games he pitches brilliantly and then for a couple nothing goes well and then the cycle repeats. Chris normally does well against the Nats but he is a creature of the night. So hopefully he will be on the upside today and maybe it will be cloudy.

Jordan Zimmermann is the starter for the Nationals. Zimmermann will be making his fourth start of the season and his second one against the Marlins. Last time we saw him pitch, he pitched well going six innings and allowing only one hit. And that is the only start he has made this season that went well. In his most recent outing he walked everyone in sight and was removed from the game. This will be his second day game start in-a-row.

Ichthyomancy has its broom in hand and is ready to thrust it towards the sky.
