The Marlins are in Pittsburgh to play a four-game set against the Pirates. While the Marlins don't have much luck in games at the GAP, they, historically, don't do any better at PNC. Hopefully, fortunes will change.
Chris Volstad is on the hill for the Marlins. Volstad pitched kinda, sorta, ok in his last start and it would've been a lot better without the home runs being served up. Chirs still isn't going very deep in the game, so expect to see the bullpen tonight. If he can get the sinker working and avoid the long ball, he might do all right.
James McDonald is on the mound for the Pirates. McDonald will be making his third start of the season for the Buccos. The first went pretty well, the second - not so much. McDonald spent most of the season starting for the Dodgers in Triple-A. He is the typical fast ball (92.6 mph), curve, and change pitcher with his curve being his most effective pitch. This will be his first start against the Fish.
Ichthyomancy wants the losing streak stopped.
Best of Luck to You!
