The Marlins start a nine-game, ten-day road trip tonight in New York. Hopefully all the players for the Marlins remembered to take the 7-train to Taxpayer Stadium. If not, there could be some late arrivals. The Marlins have a bit of a win-streak going against the Mets, but I won't jinx it by talking about it.
Anibal Sanchez is on the mound for the Fish. Anibal has been flat out good recently. In his last eight starts he has not surrendered more than 2 ER in any of them. Hopefully, the trend will continue.
R.A. Dickey is on the hill for the Mets. Dickey is a knuckleball pitcher and all that implies. He basically is a two-pitch pitcher, he throws the knuckler most of time but will mix in a 84-mph fast ball. He made a start against the Marlins in 2008 when he was with Seattle, and it turned out that it wasn't Mr. Dickey's night.
Ichthyomancy Rule Change: QS is no longer a stand alone pick for any Marlins starter. If you want to couple it with another pick such as: QS, W or QS, 10+ K, that will be fine. But it no longer by itself is considered Above and Beyond. This rule change will go into effect for tomorrow's game. Thank you.
