The Marlins are looking to try and even the series.
Josh Johnson is on the mound for the Marlins. JJ has been lights out in his recent starts. In the last eight starts he has given up one earned run or less in all eight of them. Johnson has had the Padres number in the past.
Jon Garland is the starter of choice for the Padres. Garland for the most part has pitched decently for most of the season. In his last start he finally got some run support and actually got a win in the month of June. The Marlins faced him earlier in the year and really didn't do anything against him. The Fish only scored one run while striking out ten times in the six innings he was on the mound.
This game is not on TV if you live in Florida. However, if you watch via MLB.TV the schedule is showing that it will be carried on a San Diego television network. We will see if that is true.
