Woo Hoo! Another pitcher from Rice. I think, the movie The Rose starring Bette Midler, kinda put Midlothlan on the map. Could be entirely wrong about that, but if I'm right, which is very doubtful, the description of town in the movie is completely inaccurate. But it does make for good theatre.
Anyways, another draft has come and gone. And as per the usual, the Marlins selected more pitchers than other other position. Stocking up on pitchers was very much needed in the organization. Now, whether any of them will pan out remains to be seen, but firing the shotgun blast and getting all that you can sometimes works. And maybe, just maybe, it will be effective this time around.
In a sad note, once again I wasn't drafted by the Marlins. Oh sure, I can't hit, run fast, throw or pitch, but c'mon this is the fifth year I have offered my services and have been rejected. This is starting to remind me of high school all over again.
