After Thursday night's painful-to-watch series finale against the Giants, the Marlins made a couple of roster moves, designating Mike Lamb for assignment and calling up lefty-hitting outfielder Bryan Petersen.
Lamb, Florida's lefty hitter off the bench, batted .222 (4-for-18) while seeing action in 18 games. Petersen, who turned some heads while being with the big league club for most of Spring Training, was hitting .290 with a homer and nine RBIs in 26 games for Triple-A New Orleans. The 24-year-old Petersen, who got the nickname "Condor" this spring, got the second-most Grapefruit League at-bats on the team (67) and hit .284.
Not sure that Condor is necessarily the answer to the Marlins current offensive woes, nonetheless, he will join the team tonight in DC.
