The Marlins are going for the series win today. Something we haven't done in the last three series, whereas the Nationals haven't lost a series in the last four they've played. But this is baseball, and given the game, fortunes change and hopefully they will today.
Josh Johnson is on the hill for the Marlins. I would give you the history of JJ facing the Nationals, but since I am a baseball fan and therefore superstitious, I won't. Let's just say if the real JJ shows up, we should be okay.
John Lannan takes the mound for the Nationals. With Lannan, I will jink away. He has never lost to the Marlins and it is about time he does. He is, I wouldn't call it soft-tossing, but he sure isn't a hard throwing lefty. His fast ball is below 90 mph and his change is about 6 mph slower.
Ichthyomancy is ready for the usual Sunday day game.
Best of Luck to You!
