Breakout the brooms, Florida, because the Marlins are going for the sweep. Not only that, but if the Marlins complete the sweep, we can get back to .500. While .500 in most cases isn't anything to write home about, for the Marlins in mid-May, that ain't bad. We do our best work in the latter part of the season. But enough about that.

It is Chris Volstad's turn in the rotation. Volstad was outstanding in his last two starts and hopefully will be again today. He has only pitched in one day game this season, and he--frankly--sucked. But that was in the bad period, so probably the day aspect didn't matter. Volstad has regained command of his sinker and that is a good thing. And oh, he likes pitching in Wrigley because it is old timey and doesn't have a video board. He didn't say anything about a video board but I thought I would include it for our television team.

Carlos Silva takes the mound for the Cubs. Silva really didn't pitch well in his last two starts, in fact he didn't make it past five innings in either. However, the Cubs offense scored enough runs to get him the win in his last start. He is a fast ball (~90 mph), slider, change type of pitcher. His change up is his best pitch. But if he can't establish the fast ball, the Marlins can just sit on the change. Day games aren't his forte either. So this should prove interesting.

Ichthyomancy absolutely, positively, hates day games.

Best of Luck to You!
