Brian Sanches back in the pen

The Marlins activated Brian Sanches from the DL while placing Dan Meyer on it.

Right-hander Brian Sanches, who had been nursing a strained right hamstring since the end of Spring Training, was activated off the 15-day disabled list. But in order to make room for him on the 25-man roster, the Marlins placed left-hander Dan Meyer on the DL with an injury to his left calf.

---

Gonzalez couldn't pinpoint when Meyer's injury first occurred, but said it's something he has been dealing with throughout the season. The stats show it, as Meyer sports a 16.20 ERA in 3 1/3 innings and has given up six runs in his last three appearances.

An injury to Dan Meyer would explain why he hasn't been very good so far this season.  He pitched well last year and once he is healed, he should again this year too.

If the Chief is good to go, he will be a welcomed sight in the pen, 'cause we need all the help we can get.
