Tampabay.com released its recent winners of "Fools, Foibles, Faux Pas" and Ricky Nolasco and Chris Coghlan each brought home an award.
In the "Injuries of the year" section:
Marlins star Chris Coghlan, who went to East Lake High, needed knee surgery when he injured himself trying to hit teammate Wes Helms with a post-game shaving cream pie.
Marlins pitcher Ricky Nolasco missed the last two months of the season when he tore his meniscus while tying his shoe.
I'm not sure the data on Ricky is correct since the way I heard it happened was during conditioning. But he probably did it much earlier and finally aggravated it enough that he couldn't hide it anymore. But that gets in the way of the story.
Anyways, Congratulations to Ricky and Chris, you won an award - I think. Don't ever win it again.
