Joe Frisaro gives his Marlins season in review. The thing that stood out to me was this:
The nucleus of that squad was retained, but the only players in both the Opening Day and closing day starting lineups were rookie first baseman Gaby Sanchez and slugger Dan Uggla.
This kinda stunned me. Could this be right? So I looked it up and Joe was exactly correct, they were the only two. The team was in a state of flux all through the season. And I'm not talking about just the late trades of Cantu and Cody, along with the injuries of JJ and Hanley towards the end of the campaign. There were many others along the way.
Give the article a look see, it is walk down memory lane. Of course you get the added benefit of remembering how stupid Loria was to think the 2010 Marlins were a playoff team.
