If you received a spam email from me, I am very sorry. It seems that Gawker Media was compromised.
Part of the email I was sent:
This weekend we discovered that Gawker Media's servers were compromised,
resulting in a security breach at Lifehacker, Gizmodo, Gawker, Jezebel,
io9, Jalopnik, Kotaku, Deadspin, and Fleshbot. As a result, the user name
and password associated with your comment account were released on the
internet. If you're a commenter on any of our sites, you probably have
several questions.
I don't have permission to post the email, but I don't care. Back in 2004 Deadspin was comment only by invitation and I stupidly accepted the invite. I should have been tipped off when it didn't work and I had to sign up a second time. Bottom line, two of my email accounts and passwords were stolen. And some clever fool in China is trying to access all of my accounts. I have had to change passwords for Yahoo!, Gmail, Amazon, Netflix, LinkedIn, Facebook, and on and on....
If you got one of the emails, I apologize.
And OH, by the way Gawker Media-- You Suck!!!
