The Marlins are in St. Louis to play three against the NL Central leading Cardinals.
Ricky Nolasco takes the hill for the Fish. Nolasco was pretty sharp in his last outing taking a 2 hit shutout into the seventh. Ricky has been a little off and on this season, but when on, he is excellent.
Todd Wellemeyer answers the call for the Cardinals. This was originally suppose to be a John Smoltz start, but John is ailing and personally, he won't be missed by me. Wellemeyer has been pitching out of the pen of late. He started against the Marlins early in the season and went 6 innings giving up 11 hits and allowing 5 runs. He got the win in that game.
